“I have been going to Spartanburg Vision for over 15 yrs. For the last 5 yrs , they have been doing some shady stuff with their billing for a diabetic exam. I’m retired with BCBS insurance. I had my exam on10/30/25 and was told my bill would be $14.98. I realized that I was billed for $51.00 and was billed an additional $18 in the mail. I stopped by and spoke with the manager who I have to speak with every year. I advise her that Eye Med said that the bill should go to them first before BCBS. Eye Med has informed me that unless I have a degenerative eye disease, my diabetic eye exam should be $10. The manager said that they did not bill eye med first and would resubmit the bill. The older lady behind the desk was rude and blamed my insurance. I ask for itemized receipt and have not received anything. I received another bill today for $18. I will be looking for another optometrist who know how to bill correctly for a regular diabetic exam,”
